Picture
Dr. Ajit Babu, CAGH Director was at the UN, Vienna in 2017 as a member of the Expert Group on Space and Global Health, which is an official UN group that meets each year as a side meeting to a General Assembly meeting. He had the great pleasure of being invited by the Indian delegation to be seated with them while the Assembly was in session. Represented at the Expert Group meeting were UNOOSA as well as NASA and space agencies of France and Japan along with national representatives from Germany, Canada, Russia and Switzerland. CAGH was the only NGO having representation at this conclave. Dr. Chandana Unnithan, CAGH Fellow, participated in 2018 and she has subsequently been nominated as an official national representative of Australia to the Expert Group.

The project was successfully completed and key findings have been published in 2019 in the journal Environmental Monitoring and Assessment from Springer.

CAGH is about collaboration across boundaries - social, geographic or conceptual. We are all one, aiming for a better quality of life, and a safer planet. Our logo, which tries to capture these principles, was designed by the students of the 2010 MPH class at the Achutha Menon Centre, Trivandrum, India and thereafter, refined by Samrat Gupta.
