Aims and Objectives
The Center for Advancement of Global Health (CAGH) is the operational arm of the Society for Advancement of Global Health (SAGH) a non-profit society registered with the government of the state of Kerala, India, in accordance with the provisions of the Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act (Act 12 of 1955). CAGH is based in the city of Cochin (also known as Kochi), Kerala. Cochin is the commercial hub of Kerala state, well connected by air, rail, sea and road.
The following are the aims and objectives of CAGH:
1. To maintain close co-operation among those desirous of improving the health and well-being of the public in India and around the world.
2. To develop innovative approaches and procedures for global health enhancement that can be useful for governments and society at large, with an emphasis on the judicious design, use and evaluation of relevant technology.
3. To encourage the dissemination of modern, scientifically sound ideas and knowledge among public health practitioners and the general public in matters relating to public health at large, and global health in particular.
4. To promote and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration at various levels of society for improving public health and related elements such as nutrition, sanitation, communication, socioeconomic development, horticulture, quality of life and information technology
5. To receive and accept donations, gifts, grants or contributions in kind or cash from any person or persons, societies, companies, authority or Government for the furtherance of the aims and objectives of the Society as permissible under existing laws and governmental regulations which may apply to this Society.
6. To conduct appropriate awareness and fund-raising programs to further the objectives of the Society which may include classes, symposiums, workshops and conferences.
